Congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning for earning an amazing honor! ESPN The Magazine has named the Lightning the #1 sport franchise in the nation among ALL sports (hockey, football, baseball & basketball combined). The official announcement is expected later today.
The Bolts were honored for several reasons including:

There’s a new service that Facebook is providing its users. The site is looking to connect you with food & services, so now you can order food via Facebook. Reuters reports that as of yesterday (October 19th) the social network would allow users in the U.S. to order food through Facebook pages of restaurants. You’ll also now be able to get quotes from businesses, buy movie tickets & book appointments at spas & salons.

Do you ever wonder if you’re making enough money and if it’s time to ask for a raise? Glassdoor has a new app that will tell you what you should be getting paid. The employment website, which tracks job openings, salaries and company reviews, has a new app called “Know Your Worth” that can help you figure out what you should be getting paid. Samsung officially recalled its Note 7 smartphone earlier this week, but they’re trying to give buyers an incentive to stick with the brand by offering them $100 in bill credits (on top of their refund for returning the device) if they replace their Note 7 with another Samsung model, according to Time. Those who choose to get a non-Samsung phone will only receive a $25 credit. Both offers were valid beginning Wednesday (October 12th) afternoon. Samsung announced earlier this week that it was halting production of the phone after reports indicated that even Samsung’s replacement devices had issues.

It’s the latest viral challenge–the “Diabetes Dance Dare.” According to Pop Sugar, just as the Ice Bucket Challenge raised money & awareness of ALS a couple of years ago (and more recently the 22 Push-Up Challenge), the Diabetes Dance Dare is aimed at raising money & awareness of just how many Americans are diagnosed with diabetes. Facebook…at work. Facebook has announced they’ve launched a separate workplace version of the social networking site that is designed to help coworkers communicate and get work done. They’ve expanded upon what was called Facebook at Work. The way it works is that your employer has to sign up for it. Since your workplace has to pay for it, there are no ads. It is simply called, Workplace. (The service is being offered to non-profit organizations & schools for free.)

And the lights have gone out on Disney’s classic Main Street Electrical Parade at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in Orlando. The parade has long been one of our family’s favorites thanks in large part to the retro feel. Chadd & I took the kids recently to see the parade for one last time, as it is moving out west to run at California’s Disneyland for a limited time.
